This is truly one of the best engines ever made from a car manufacturer! The design is legendary! If only people knew how good this engine is!

Running this engine since 2008. 300, 000KM on the clock. Still going strong.

You have no idea how reliable and strong this lil engine. Over 165k miles without timing chain change, NEVER need to open the engine.

You are wrong this engine is super reliable I've seen them with more that 200k on them running like a clock

And here I am with an 06 Scion xA with 364k. God blessed this car to keep on pushing.

I’ve got a Corolla with one of these engines. It’s so far been excellent. Just approached 160000km or It uses no oil, make no rattles and doesn’t leak. It’s been serviced every 10000km since new.

This engine is very reliable almost every 1nz on the road has 200k+ miles on it I have 248k rn oil consumption is 1quart every 3k miles which for 248k miles is nothing just change the oil and it will be fine

It definitely can have some of the issues stated in the video but it's definitely not common for all these things. But under normal use this is an amazing engine that can last 300k miles.

Coming up on a quarter million miles with zero issues. After 12 years of owning this car, other than maintenance the ONLY part I've ever replaced is 1 starter and 1 VVT solenoid. It burns about 3/4 a quart every 4, 000 miles

That claim of the 1NZ engine being unreliable is totally inaccurate. My little 07 Yaris has been reliably serviced, and has about 600k (597k to be exact) miles on the original engine.
It consumes about 1 qrt per 1900 miles. And she still runs as strong as when new. No, oil leaks, nor noises. A valve seal change is in the plans, the we will put many more miles on her. Lol

This little monster on my 2005 premio runs like a dream. Its now 210, 000km. The most reliable thing i have bought from the japanese. God bless them.

I have 1NZ FE on my 2004 vios. milage. Still water coming out from exhaust. When car is on idling you don’t even notice car is on or off. Its really smooth and quite.
Just look after the engine well. Do the engine tune up on right time. This engine is rock solid.

213, 000 miles on my Echo and still pulls strong. Runs reliably in Minnesota winters.

Mine has only 177000 miles on it and every time I change the oil at 6500 miles it's is still dead on full mark and very clean.
I love this little engine.

I’m at 207k miles with no oil consumption, no leaks and still on the stock clutch. Just completed a road trip from Boise to Houston without a single hiccup.
