Early Argento works for me (1970-90). He's about atmosphere than logic. More of a visual stylist than a writer. Dig Tenebrae. Some gruesome kills and the particular sculpture - you know someone will be on the business end of that monstrosity, just a matter of time and who will be receiving the damage.

They are a little overrated in my opinion. But I can see how at one time, they probably had a bigger impact on audiences. Tenebrae is definitely not worth the 40+ price tag it was selling for last year, when I was curious about picking it up. I eventually saw the movie, and was relieved that I hadn't spent that much money on it. It would probably sell better at $19.99. I think they tried to hype it up as being this "important film" when really it's just a run of the mill foreign slasher.
