"You can't believe the gospel." a system created by Satan, not God.

Watching your videos has me really striving to think Biblically first, not Theologically or to keep it to a minimum. For the past two years, I've held the position that people are either in the flesh (unsaved) or in the Spirit (saved). Like you said, there is no such mention of a sinful nature. I always found the two-nature position lacking support but it is a convenient way of explaining why we still sin. The sinful nature position is also a useful tool for inducing guilt and manipulation. Lots of building projects have found their success by inducing veiled guilt.

Calvinists should read Genesis 3. Totally depravity and inability is a doctrine of demons. Man didn't lose moral responsibility and culpability in the garden, he gained it. The Lord God said, “The man has become like one of us, knowing good and evil. And now, he might reach out his hand, and take also from the tree of life, and eat, and live forever”—
Genesis 3:22 MEV

They do not believe a lost person can read John 3:16-18 and believe it on their own. Someone has to explain to them. Because no one can believe it on their own. And unless the Holy Spirit is explaining it to them they just can not believe it.

And you are so right. Lost people can do everything that believers can do and sometimes way better. The fruit inspectors get it wrong. The fruit of Matthew 7:15-23 is the gospel, First Corinthians 15:1-4, that most churches have replaced with their own gospel. They actually pervert those verses in to works based Christianity. Not John 6:40 and John 6:29.

Thank you for this. I grew up in a very religious family and we were taught total depravity...went to Christain school and college and had very little real contact with non Christians. When i finally got exposed to them, i was so surprised at tjeir goodness. I was iften convicted by them and realuzed they exceeded my morality. Its just one realizarion that shook up my beliefs.

Another was i realized i believed statements of belief about Jesus, but never felt like i knew Him personally and when I heard i was supposwd to have a "relationship" with Him, i didnt even know what that meant.

So, ive questioned what ive been taught and have been praying for God to show me the real God!!

Another very disturbing thot was the idea of eternal torture for the unbelieving! Having studied Hell and talked to Christains about it, i have come to the conclusion that Christians embrace Hell on paper, while in reality, they avoid thinking about the topic or discussing it seriously.

The great awakening converted people from non religious to religious works, how many actually were born again. Not many I think.

Sir, thank you for another excellent video. Very thought-provoking. The only thing I am still trying to wrap my head around is how the following passage that you referenced supports the idea that the bad trees can produce good fruit. Your thoughts on this would be most helpful....

Matthew 7:18 KJV — A good tree cannot bring forth evil fruit, neither can a corrupt tree bring forth good fruit.

The calvinists would say that the unregenerate do these good things with wicked motives so they are NOT good (ie when they practice philanthropy).

Then the calvinists bring out Isaiah 64:6: all our all good works are like filthy rags.

Every time.

They would not admit the unregenerate do any good thing.

I was interested in the reference to the great awakening and would like to see that discussed. “Sinners in the hand of an Angry God” could surely do no good, though I’ve heard no end of praise for these kinds of sermons.

Would the Wesley stream of the great awakening be somewhat clearer?? Interesting 🤔

I’m curious to what you have to say, but let me play devils advocate a lil bit. I agree that there are a lot of “good things” that unbelievers do. Doesn’t the Bible say that “anything that is not done from faith is sin?” I’m just conversing not arguing. I’ve come to a similar conclusion on “Total depravity” and how Calvinist folk say “it doesn’t mean man is as bad as he possibly could be.” If they were consistent you have to conclude that man is as bad as can be.

Sin is simply not living by faith...Romans says "Whatsoever is not of faith is sin"!
