Finally getting around to watching this…Appreciate your insights! Especially the “make love not war” sequencing for “When She Comes!” W2A has truly become one of my favorite Prince albums! And it sounds extra good on vinyl! Would love a wordplay video on 1010 (Rin Tin Tin!) 💜

I enjoyed your take on the album and I feel you are correct in the overall message. We often listen to the music, but we have to listen to the words too. We can no longer be the people that have books full of information and not take advantage of said information. Welcome back my brother, you have been missed. Great review.

When I listened to "Affirmation III" from The Art Official Age album, i realized Prince's faith had made some adjustments. I was always astonished when I heard he became a JW, soley because he was usually non-conformists about alot of things.

I saw this tour in 2012 in Las Angeles. I was in the beginning of a physical disability and I had horrible pain. He left and came back I think 2 or 3 times so by then almost everyone was gone and I figured there is no way he will come out again lol. So I left and as my cab pulled out I heard Diamonds and Pearls starting. Man did I kick my self for that one. Sheila E was so freaking amazing and hot as ever too. I went to see the new power generation do his memorial tour. I just love him so much. I know he was special. I mean look at those eyes. We would have gotten along so well.

Prince is still a sage. I never heard of Benjamin Banneker until this album. On the song One Day We Will All B Free, he mentioned that he was born a free black man. I did research and not only was he one of the founding fathers of the Declaration of Independence, but he was also a mathematician who created an Almanac that predicted astrology timetables. When the sun will rise, when the moon will rise, planet positions etc. Look him up. Its very interesting.

I had heard about the move away from Jehovah's Witnesses but just from one or two places. But this makes the introduction of 3rd Eye Girl all the more compelling, both because it was his way of making things right and moving BACK to the spirituality he was thinking of in the 90s, and especially the song "3rd Eye" from the truth album. It makes me want to go an relisten to the MPLS/Lotusflower albums. It also makes me want to think of his faith in terms of the RRHOF induction, and how it was still like he was like the parallel universe version of the Symbol. Plus, he's in his early 50s when this album was written, and it has this "get off my lawn" quality, which is interesting because he also seems in a state where he realizes he may have wasted precious time writing, and that is also reflected in the tone of the speaker of the lyrics.

Sometimes you need a fun song to balance a strong message for a album or disc.

Love this. The vibration in water and Rick comment is a new age concept. It’s interesting to see how he started reintroducing new age ideas into his spiritual message in the releases from 2011 until his passing.

hi everyone. Eloy, I think you did a great interpretation of the message of the album. Thanks 4 the 2 parts videos, definitely u did a great job. Something i could add is, usually as human beings we just don't realize the importance of our freedom and free will, we take it for granted. Even though there´s some people in the high to the mountain, trying to manipulate us or limit our freedom in certain way, mostly that happen because we let them as a unit. At the end, is not just a exterior slavery, as people we let our body and the worse of ourselves take control of our life, so other people could trick us easily. That´s why i think of those slavery systems exist in the first place, because those things will teach us not just to be free, but also to apreciate it and respect the freedom of the rest of the people, if we accept to beat the challenge. Is not easy, maybe seems impossible, but, that´s why the life got some kind of meaning, to fight our own evil (our evil that reflects in the material world as human mankind) and to try to live together because we chose to do so. At the end, life it ain't real funky
, unless it's got that pop (that challenge that make us better consciously).
