My late sister once told me when you turn 50 you no longer need an excuse - just say NO. I was almost 40 at the time and decided not to wait till I was 50! Best advice she ever gave us!

We are in the conserving money phase of life. We are 73 (husband and 2 cats) and retired. I am always learning the how to’s even though we have been budgeting all our lives. So enjoy this channel and reading the comments. So glad for the young ones learning these things now.👍

This is personal info. Went to cancer center yesterday. Not the news we were hoping for. They've given me 6 months (maybe a little more). This is based on data they have and it's not written in stone, but they're pretty good with their data. I'm not worried about it because I've lived a life, have few regrets, and a lot of experience. If I were 25 I might be worried, but I'm 75 and not afraid to die.
I have been a fan of yours for a long time. I know you will succeed in any endeavor you pursue. You are a positive force in not just my life, but a lot of lives. I'll still be around for awhile, will participate when I can. I tell you all of this personal information not for sympathy, because I need none, but just to let you know what's up with me. I have nothing but admiration for you my friend. Be talking to you 👍

"No" is a complete sentence! I say simply, "No, thank you, " and move on with my day!

Had to stop this video at 4 minutes to comment on the people pleasing. Same. I am working on reversing this and I have become so much happier for it! Saying no is so liberating.

I am currently (newly) obsessed with getting my home routine on track and destroy my outrageous credit card balance. For the first time ever I believe I have the momentum I need. It’s all coming from watching you and other frugal people constantly - in the morning getting ready for work, at my desk at lunch, while prepping dinner and doing dishes, before bed. Obsession works for me 😂Thanks for the great content.

Hey all, my first month as an empty nester is better than expected. I save first. Because it’s just me. I’ve got my back. I’m half way to my emergency fund. And the first week in feb I’m getting a haircut and a facial and a hot Thai curry. I can’t wait. The gap
between what I earn and what I spend is bigger what I thought. I have released my inner stingy. She’s cool. I like her.😊

I’m the same Kate :). I’m a full time teacher but love my part time yoga teaching and tutoring jobs. I wouldn’t have been able to get a house without them. Love your guidance and how open and honest you always are. You were who got me started on my journey of frugality. X

Hi Kate, only this week I said no to a dear friend. She made this amazing plans to go with the kids at the end of the month. It’s really far away from me and I don’t drive, it would take me hours to get there and back and it’s so cold in London right now!!
She was super understanding and I’m so shocked, because before J would have done anything to not missed something like this. Feeling so proud of myself.😊

I’ve been at my job for 35 years! In my younger days I always worked 2 jobs as I lived in a high cost area in NY. A leap of faith allowed me to relocate to a unknown state, buy a home and ultimately transfer again to care for my dad in the last 2 years. My PT job ( more Ft) is caring for the old dad - the pay sucks - lol - but his safety is most important and priceless! . It’s been difficult to move in with him but I’m seeing this an opportunity to give him more than any care home would do, and rent out my home. I’m still working and travel during the day so also pay for helpers to stay with dad. He was a workhorse back in the day and worked up to 3 jobs to care for his family and in my heart I know it’s his turn to be cared for, when he can’t care for himself. I heavily contribute to my 401k and just paid off my car :)

I have a cash-back credit card that all my regular bills go to each month...cellphone, insurances etc. This has been the first month (maybe ever!) that there has been NOTHING else on that monthly statement!!! No-spend is working😊

I belong to a meetup group, and they schedule something almost every weekend. I choose what I want to go to and take into account the cost and say no to some things and say yes to the free stuff like a hike.

I am doing quite well in my no spend I see money that I didn't even know I had. I honestly love to see people smile yes I am that person...yes that is what I will be doing when I am out of debt...a small amount to give to help others. I think I need to budget it in later but I love to help it really warms my heart ❤️ makes me feel great...my momma taught me that a smile is so much more than anything you can buy....what a world we would live in if everyone felt this way. I am also working on scaling down my possessions..
I really don't need much. I want to buy and own the farm I live on outright. I have lots of goals. It's seems funny to most but this is me and the older I get I truly just want to be me. ❤ Thank you for being a inspiration ❤.
