To witness someone who actually walked the walk and presented such a powerful video is a blessing...we are very forgetfull...stay on guard. watch the mind. I am just a fool but I can feel the wisdom.👃🙏🙌

Basically what he's advocating for is mindfulness & slow living. Very wise, and very much needed in these hectic and troubled times.

A couple of points I would take issue with from a Buddhist perspective: (1) that human beings are a cancer for the Earth (2) that the "rest of creation will breathe a sigh of relief when we are gone". The point of manifesting as a Zen practitioner is to demonstrate the way to live with wisdom and compassion. And also that Zen, being a form of Mahayana Buddhism, requires the Bodhisattva aspiration i.e. the vow to take rebirth until all sentient beings are liberated from suffering. As a consequence, the "rest of creation" will welcome and supports anyone who is prepared to take rebirth into this suffering world in order to dedicate their life to manifesting their Buddha nature for all beings to learn from and emulate.

Rush, rush, rush. Go, go, go. I recently realized that I rush to get to bed on time. What kind of thing have I become?

Hello from Canada. This was beyond beautiful. Video, sound, editing all brought the meaning to the forefront. I’m speechless and desperately want to visit this little part of the world. Thanks!

FYI this is Vanja Palmers who inherited a fortune of multiple million dollars stemming from his parents who founded the Calida AG (Swiss textile producer) after the Second World War, was a hippy then zen monk for 10 years in California. He is a vegan and an animal rights activist and a big proponent of „sacraments“. His mountain center is part of a longitudinal study on the effects off psilocybin during meditation.

Our dissappearance will be a sigh of relief for the rest of the beings on this planet. Yes, exactly that.

Too many people, too much stress, too much pollution, too much selfishness, no common sense.

The conclusions that people draw off of a string of words.
May we all find the nourishment that exists beneath them.

The Zen life seems to me to be a life of transcending the conditioned world in an attempt to converge with the true and become a Buddha (one who has awakened to true reality).

He’s right. If we have any chance this is our chance. The opportunity to turn inward happened to me because of the strain the outside world was having on me. Essentially, how twisted out and frictious I had become inside. So in a way, if this feeling happens to people, I atleast hope they choose to turn inward and not to kill themselves. I practice Kriya yoga and hatha yoga through sadhguru, some practice other things like the man in the video. I hope that before suicide, before intense anti depressants, you try a method that has been tried and true for hundreds or thousands of years. And if that doesn’t work then turn to drugs

I have a lot of respect for Zen, especially what was taught by Dōgen Zenji. But when I hear someone refer to humans as cancer, and that the (ironically) personified world would "breathe a sigh of relief" at our extinction, it just seems like more resigned, antihuman depression made worse by retreating from life and tyrannizing the self. There's a balance in all things. Perhaps our humanity is more important than being peaceful.

Interesting to me that psychedelics tuned him into impermanence. For me it was the opposite, showed me the eternal nature of spacetime and ourselves. But it's two sides of the same coin.
