The 'sync' Command In Linux

When I learned 'sync' was a command in Linux it was a huge relief, because I have had this exact issue happen to me because what one see sand what's on the disk are separate things (write cache) and it all magically went away when writing 'sync' after a 'dd' operation (or copying a file to another drive) became second nature. :D

Great video as always, Linux has so many commands and even though I've only been using Linux since about 2017/2018 I'm always happy to learn more about commands that can be immensely helpful, and wrapping them up in short format is like a neat little surprise whenever I'm going through YouTube!

My favourite is rsync, great for backups and stuff. Great if you keep distro hopping or you screwed up your distro and want to rewrite the distro but keep configs

I use rsync daily, but don't mess much with thumb drives, but good to know in the future when I do!

If you just eject the drive or use umount it does that automatically, Just eject your drive instead of ripping it out.
