What are the top beaches in Malibu? I took a mini road-trip on a beautiful summer day to explore 3 unique beaches: Point Dume, Zuma Beach, and El Matador Beach. They offer some of the best views, vibes, and beauty in California.

The point at Point Dume is where Charlton Heston found the Statue of liberty in The Planet of The Apes . The ocean drops off dramatically off ofMalibu and the deep water contributes to the blue sky . I miss TheBu.

Malibu is by far one of the most beautiful places in California! I miss taking a drive along the coast just to enjoy the view or spending long days laying out at the beach. :-) Thx for the memories Michael! ;-) ...and by the way, i really do appreciate dunkin' Coffee ;-)

If you're in Malibu and you're up to hiking, definitely do Nicholas Pond-Ridge trail. There's a ton of hiking in the area and a lot of it isn't crowded. Some of the hikes are forked and they won't be crowded like, Runyon. Saw you did Sandstone, but if you do Solstice Canyon, it can be crowded in the tiny lot, forcing people to park on the roads and try to walk in. The further north of Malibu you get, the less crowded it can get. I recommend Nicholas hikes and Mugu Hikes (in the winter with a good hat/weather bc little shade)

California is 500 miles of beautiful rocky mountains tumbling down onto the beautiful Pacific. Unlike the East Coast, other than parking, there are no pay beaches because, kids belong on the beach..
Venice and Santa Monica are hi-end urban beaches. Pt Dume is very Hi-end residential, and Zuma is a generic beach pinned between Pacific Coast Highway and the water. Unfortunately, most of Malibu is the PCH, a 25' sliver of residential and the waves... Many natives have fled to Oregon Washington and Idaho. In the 60's California invited the world to came.... and they did.

I think some tourists might not go down to Malibu because they may think the beaches are private, my family and I believed so and many of our friends too (from our state) when we visited ca

0:18 0:21 " . . . am I in Hawaii or California?"
"Aloha!" That question is easily answered because the INSTANT one dips their toes into the Pacific one will know because the islands' (ocean) water temperature is traditionally / on-average 15 degrees warmer than southern California's. Another 'give-away' is the CLEARER water in Hawaii.

BTW, the statement of either of those differences does not decrease one iota the beauty and charm of California's offerings. But as with most things in life, outdoor recreation and the wonders of nature -- 'Mother Nature' if you will -- everyone will have, and is entitled to, their preferences. So it hardly makes sense to get into these mindless, bullying, 'you-don't know-what-you're-talking-about', sometimes ugly 'pissing matches' littering and cluttering Comments.
