In this video I explain how I can sound like an entire band when performing with just a vocalist. In my duo with Chicago jazz vocalist Deborah Powell for example I do not use playbacks to achieve a band like sound, because this would completely limit our ability to be spontaneous. We need to be able to change all kinds of things on the fly, like the harmony, the song form, breaks, key, tempo, etc.. I can do all that with the Casio Privia PXS3000 and its auto accompaniment feature. The keyboard analyses my chords in real time and adapts the accompaniment to the harmony I create. That's absolutely perfect. I can of course also just play it like an acoustic piano if I like. The possibilities are incredible. All this is explained in this short video.
Keyboards I use in this video:
Casio Privia PXS3000 digital piano (88 keys)
Roland FA06.
