It's absolutely sickening this keeps happening to these kids it's heartbreaking 😢so my question is WHY doesn't each state hire armed security guards for the schools, doing a bk ground check 1st WHY aren't they at the doors, and on top the roof's of these SCHOOLS?! It would create jobs as well as protecting our most precious asset's! Our children!!This should have been done yrs ago! Sometimes I think they want this to keep happening!! They certainly make dang sure their federal buildings are secure!😡

It doesn't take a safety expert to tell the obvious truth: *GET RID OF THE GUNS.* This isn't about "gun owner rights." It's about the ready availability of the guns to psychopaths via legal and illegal means, including stealing guns that weren't locked up. They aren't required to pass a test to get a gun license. They aren't required to pass a separate psych eval. They aren't required to do anything at all to purchase the guns online. They have 3D "ghost gun" blueprints for 3D printers, because those blueprints and the sites that carry them aren't banned (with the ban being effectively upheld). Nutjobs who stalk and harass women, then get away with it even in courts all over the country, whose judges are NAIVE male idiots, don't have any of that come back on them later when they try to purchase guns. The black market isn't even under decent surveillance for the guns sold that way. These things are practically laying around like toys or candy, all over the US, and that's our fault for allowing guns to be manufactured and sold in the US for any use outside the military and police forces.

*A well regulated militia* does NOT mean "any and all citizens, carte blanche." It means the United States Military and that's *all* it means. It doesn't even technically *include* police at all. *JUST* the US Military, and *that''s it.* And no, most of our police *can't* be trusted to use guns responsibly, but the least we can do is limit gun sales to *only* the US Military and our police forces. There's a reason guns are still being sold on the open market: they eventually have to be *replaced.* Take away open market gun sales to the general public, take down all websites that sell them or the 3D blueprints (and keep them from popping up again by the same website owners, via IP address monitoring and other steps taken), stop allowing the sale of certain filaments most commonly used in 3D printing ghost guns, and monitor the black market a lot more closely, going in and removing *ALL* of their weapons (regardless of how they were obtained in the first place)... And watch the mass shootings *plummet.*

You can't make a school safer. Bricks and concrete can be shot clean through. Door locks? Same thing. All windows? Same thing. These mass shooters aren't using muskets, they're using military style assault weapons - that changes everything. Hell, a roof can be shot through too. Or just destroyed by other means. You can't protect students from mass shootings until you get rid of the guns in the general public entirely. How do I know? Well, look at the results of 20+ years of NOT getting rid of gun sales to civilians...

We have way too many entries to schools. Yes, we need multiple emergency exits, but we should not have multiple entries. Schools were designed for a time in which we no longer live. Also, every school needs trained armed guards.

My heart goes out to the parents and relatives of those gunned down. Tennessee Republican Rep. Tim Burchett say there's nothing that can be done. I think the people on this segment need to teach him, a lesson.

Better mental health an more armed people at schools

It ended SUPER FAST once a trained rifleman arrived.
We simply need to work on shortening that time.

what steps do you know when people get divorced? They make you go to psychologist that's what they should do before people get become parents because parenting is the problem in this country. There's no supervision. Kids are allowed to do whatever they want and it's because of the employment situation jobs take most of the day from parents.

You can never "make sure nothing ever happens in our school". You can take steps to minimize the damage. You can create more hurdles & barriers. You can never completely prevent something like this from happening. Even if guns didn't exist, there would still be mass murders attacking soft targets. Figure out why they do what they do, and then you can start to solve the problem.

Mental health is the issue not guns people need to stop going right to ban guns don’t they realize that if a person is mentally not ok and wants to hurt people but can’t get guns because of the laws guess what that person can just buy guns illegally off the streets or use another way to hurt people point I’m making is no matter what this is always going to happen until our leaders realize that our American citizens need mental help stop trying to take all of the good honest working citizens gun rights away who have clear heads on their shoulders

Extra coating on school windows and doors?!? Against an AR-15? US is not going replace all doors and windows in all schools. The cost would be staggering!
