Pyracanthas can be shaggy things with vicious spines or they can be neatly trimmed and organised architectural plants. Simple to maintain, evergreen with flowers and berries.

Twice a year, but when? I can see the flower buds bursting out all over mine now, and it's mid-April. It's looking a bit scraggly, but I feel like it's probably too late to trim. Is it?

No Blackbird nest? You cut the plant too short for that.
