Trying a $321 Bowl of Soup

Beef noodle soup is a staple throughout Taiwan. You’ll pay around $6 for a bowl at most restaurants in Taipei. But you’ll fork over $321 for the elite beef noodle soup at Niu Ba Ba. Yes, $321. For. One. Bowl. Why so expensive? Well, for starters, it is made with high-quality wagyu beef. If it’s too pricey for you, there are options—a premium beef noodle soup that costs $160 a bowl and a classic version that goes for under $20. While the restaurant has fixed prices now, there was a time when customers could pay whatever they wanted for the soup. One diner chose to pay close to $1,000, which makes $321 sound like a bargain.

I can't imagine any food in the world tasting good enough to overpower the taste of financial regret.

I had a $400 ramen in houston before. True story. I went to this ramen place near the downtown area and the ramen was really good. It was $15 and it was amazing. Then I go back to the place where I parked my car, only to find out it got towed because the sign that says I couldn't park there was covered by a tree. So I had to spend another $375 for my car

The reason it's 321$ is because, 3, 2, 1, your money is *G O N E*

The fact that the noodles aren't made in house immediately took a lot of value out of it.

Is no one gonna acknowledge the fact that his shop is literally called cow daddy?

I tried it. It’s pretty ok, I like the one from the small restaurants cause they’re pretty good and well priced like around $3.00

Imagine paying like 16 bucks for a wagyu beef noodle soup

Wagyu is relatively expensive in every part of the world. Definitely the best experience if you can afford to eat it.

Feels like such a waste of wagyu.
The way noodle soup is done, even the toughest of cuts of beef would get tenderized after prolonged cooking in the soup. So upgrading to wagyu feels like its an incremental improvement at best.

Can't believe someone would pay 900$ for a bowl I live in Taiwan and honestly every restaurant has their own distinctive taste yes beef noodle soup is the same Ingredients everywhere but every restaurant definitely has their own taste or recipe added so coming from me you can definitely find good beef noodle in Taiwan for cheaper price instead of spending 300$ but yeah I'm sure this restaurant has the ability to set their price that high since word of mouth of customers will say their beef noodles is one of the best so it all depends on you whether you got that cash to spend

$321 per person options:

1. a 12-course tasting menu meal with wine pairing from a Michelin starred restaurant
2. a bowl of beef noodle soup (note: noodles are not made fresh in-house)

Narrator: "While beef noodle soup may seem *simple, * it's all about the ingredients."
The owner: The soup is made from the beef, noodles and broth.
Narrator: *You weren't supposed to do that.*
