You’d be surprised at the people who found secret rooms hidden right in their homes. Some people are even lucky enough to find valuables! One man found two steamer trunks filled with family mementos that he was fortunate enough to be able to pass on to the rightful owner. A couple in Rome found something of enormous religious significance hidden right in plain sight in their apartment.

True story. My family and I built our own home 20 years ago, it is a huge house in the mountains of Colorado. There is a huge secret room in the house. The house is up against a mountain and there is a basement that is half buried and half exposed. Under the study, in the mountainside, there is a secret room that was not in the blueprints. The room is about 15 feet tall and is an octagon shape. My family lost the house to bankruptcy and when we knew we had to leave we drywalled over the opening to the room. We never told the bank about the room and as far as I know it is still undiscovered.

My great grandparents own an old Victorian house. While exploring as a child I found a hidden room that was more than likely the safe haven of a Jewish family during WW II. I found an old Yamaka and a Torah bound with a gold Star of David chain. After a good twenty years since my childhood I still wear the chain I found despite not being Jewish myself.

Some years ago a public school in Århus had its gym renovated and a carpenter went below the floor - only to come up again in a hurry: It's full of explosives! The school had been used by the German Wehrmacht during the war and they had made some preparations for demolition or some other crazy "last stand". And left without saying a word about this. Old explosives may turn rather unstable, so the Danish army experts were very careful in removing this shit. Weird to think that generations of pupils had been jumping around on that.

A scout club house in Thisted had a container with chemical weapons in the cellar, also from the Germans.
