The mayor was in fact trying to influence the deputy. You got caught lady. Just own it so you have some credibility and dignity left.

Lmao I love his reaction when he places the handcuffs on the mayor!

Right, she was not looking for a public favor from the police chief when she called him... that's why she tells the chief during the call that the officer did not know him... her public statement makes her look foolish.

Lol. I laughed at his expression as he was putting the cuffs on. Thinking to himself, “this stop is gonna take up the rest of my shift.”

"My chief of police", "I'm the mayor" is so dropping names and looking for special treatment.

The taxpayer should demand Zero Tolerance from everyone of their employees, they should be held to a higher standard of the law

If she wasn't trying to curry favor, why even mention what you do for a living?

When she says "My chief of Police" it sounds like that she owns Why can't the chief of police look straight in the eyes of the reporter when giving his answer to the question, he has his head pointed down and his eyes are darting all around with no direct contact to the interviewer. .I would be curious to know if they are in a "relationship" of some just looks suspicious

It does my heart good to see a cop doing the right thing. Too bad the chief had to lie about it, but I suppose that is how he got to be the chief.

"I do need to call MY chief of police."

I have no idea we're supposed to call MY chief of police if we get a police interaction.. how do we get their personal cell phone numbers?
We can even call a personal number when on vacation that's awesome I didn't know that. I'll call my department tomorrow and get that personal cell phone number.

That cop did a great job. This Mayor arrested for a DWI I don't understand. How in the world should she expect people to adhere to the Law and she doesn't

OMG, I, literally, have just found out about this stop. I was watching the second episode of "Late night lock up" and a MALE drunk driver got pulled over, the first thing out of his mouth, he "DEMANDED" that the chief of police would take his wife home and he took names of the arresting officers. He went to jail and did not lose his job. This lady WAS attempting to use her influence as Mayor, otherwise, why would she need to call the CHIEF OF POLICE. ALSO, look at the Chief of Police not looking directly in the eyes of the reporter as he says he didn't know why she was calling him except for "his advice" because she, usually, calls him for that purpose. By the way, there are more than one video showing Mayors driving under the influence. WOW! I did not know that.

Of course she did. Why would anyone need to call a person of enfluence when it's common knowledge to do what the officer asks.

she needs to resign. This is a disgrace for anyone ... doubly so for an elected official. She needed to go on the spot. And yes, she was attempting to use influence to divert the course of events. Shameful.

Seriously. She is calling for advise? She doesn't know what to do when stopped by the police. SHE IS THE MAYOR. This kind of obvious corruption seems to be normal in th US. And one more thing: (why does nobody notice this) the person she calls for help. She knows instantly who to call in this situation and this makes me think. This is not the first time for her.
