Please no superglue…. Super glue does NOT flex. We use contact cement. NO SUPER GLUE that will ruin the boot and crest premature cracks.

Oh man! This video is very detailed. Now I don't own Chisos boots but what I got from this video is the Shape Mods. I own a pair of PNW boots with a celastic toe box and my god, once I collapsed(smashed the toe box, lol) they looked and felt even better. I honestly never seen a video speak about modifying the "look" of the toe box so I want to give you guys some props. Thank you. And wish you guys continued success.

How about increasing the height of the heel? Would love to appear to be even taller! 😊

Great learning video!
I have never worn Chisos but hearing this and about the removable insoles...I'm impressed and gonna go look.
Thx

For those watching r this video who want a lighter boot… I spilled gas on my boot day one so I wanted to try and save it. I used a Clorox wipe and it took the die off the lower half. So now it’s two tone! The visible part is light brown and the shaft is dark brown!

I wish you guys made a tighter shaft, zippered boot as a product option right from the company.

Hey Will. It's cool to see my shoe tree and masking tape mod on the video. I hope this has helped some people out.

Hey Will, what hat brand/model are you wearing in this video? BTW, just ordered a pair if #2's and can't wait to receive them.

The lighter and the lose threads is something ive done for a while. It stops unraveling in its tracks.

My father and I bought some ostrich boots from tecovas for our 60th and 30th birthdays and for some reason i could never get the fit right; i went from 11 1/2 to 11 and the fit is still a little lose at the top of the foot. Do Chiso’s fit differently?

Zippers on boots—put a small key ring through the ripper tab, and then you can pull them up with your boot jacks. You can also push them down, but it takes a bit of patience.

I always do the riders strap around the boot shafts but I still feel so uncomfortable wearing them like that because yes I also do wear slimmer fitted jeans

Will the baseball trick work on Alligator boots that are a little bit too tight in the vamp

One question: how much increase of the height of the heel do you consider that I can add to a cowboy boot? Let's say to go from roper to riding heel (or even higher)

I like the bootsraps shown, does anyone have recommendations on where to buy something similar?

Raising the heel moves it up out of the heel cup and slips even more but removing the heel cup and adding additional half insoles to just the front stops heel slippage a bit more for me and ticks the ball of the heel where it’s supposed to be in the heel cup. I use a cheap fabric steamer to heat and form my new cowboy boots and then mink oil afterwards. Most quality Boots are about exactly the same its peoples feet that vary in sizes lol and 2 insoles in one boot and just one in another is common and works well.

These are great tips. Thanks!
I've got Tecovas Cartwright in dark brown (Stout Bovine), and I love them, but I think my next pair will be the Chinos #5 in Magic Black. I'd like a nice black boot with a point.
