Even if you are not in a union, you should be supporting unions. Out of PURE self interest. Because taking care of workers, respecting the people who build our cars our bridges our planes, etc ad nauseum helps ensyee that our bridges don’t collapse, and doors don’t fall off airplanes. Seriously you are correct on all counts! My dad was a teamster all his life and thanks to them we had outstanding health & dental benefits. I see unions being broken and it’s just wrong to see the working man (middle America) having hard times. Republicans do not care about middle America.

Only one thing I might add to your well articulated reasons: Unions help everyone, not just their members, because they raise the expectations. Several years ago Boeing Engineers had a strike about reduced benefits. After the strike all administrative employees (not unionized) received the same benefits as the engineers and technicians.
