New sub here. I'm a college student with an extremely tight budget. I've tried soylent 2.0 and love it but can't afford it. I love how soylent simplified this process of weight loss for you. Keep up the good content. Your videos are very well put together. :)

I'm just starting my Soylent journey. so far so good. like you said in this video, this is probably the healthiest I've eaten... probably ever. or at least, the first time I'm meeting my nutritional requirements.

also, you have a great speaking voice. I speak for a living, and it's always nice to hear someone who takes their time when communicating.

I decided to try soylent as a challenge from a friend, because I am a chef and not as a diet/weight loss plan. I started with the ready to drink cacao bottles and the taste is very similar to a protein shake. Initially the first big change was that I was having breakfast for the first time in my life, so my energy levels went through the roof whereas before Soylent I'd be lethargic til noon. The next big change I felt was not having that bloated feeling after a meal which again led to more energy, by the end of the first week I found myself craving the next Soylent meal and by the end of the second week I was in 100%. By the third week I had switched from bottles to cacao powder and began blending my meals using half water half almond milk. After a month of consuming nothing but Soylent I realized a few other changes I hadn't even noticed I'd made like I had stopped craving sugary snacks and sodas. Working as a chef I am surrounded by food all day long, but my snacking and nibbling had pretty much ceased, I still had to try food as per my job, but I wasn't constantly eating like before Soylent. As my energy increased I began cycling to work and that's when I started noticing my clothes getting looser. In 4 months I have lost 47 pounds and gone from a 46 to a 42 pant size, at 50yo I think that's a pretty impressive weight loss I was 260+ when I started this. Now my goal is to get to 200lbs and then begin a workout schedule, so I can finally be comfortable taking my shirt off at the public pool.

This is so awesome. So glad I found your channel. Me not dying from my husband's farts sounds like a winner to me. Lol keep up the work, you're a natural in front of the camera!

Well spoken... to the point, pleasant, a little funny, and real. Your video is what I hope for when I try to find review videos! Thank you.

Last year (2015-16) I walked from the top of Alaska at Prudhoe Bay on the Arctic Ocean all the way back to my home in L.A. (4200 miles) and lived almost exclusively on Soylent powder /5. My technique was to cache a gallon of water and a bag of powder at 15 mile intervals, retrieving them as I walked each day. I walk 15 miles each day. I am going to continue my walk south into Mexico and will take the Baja Peninsula to La Paz where I'll ride the ferry across to the mainland. My idea now is to cache the drink bottles at 15 miles instead if the powder because there is no water requirement for the drink. My concern is that the Baja is a desert and I wonder if the drink can withstand the hot temperatures. It will require about 35 days for me to reach La Paz. What is your opinion on this. There doesn't seem to be any refrigeration requirement on the drink, but the desert will be quite hot and I'm concerned about spoilage during the month+. Please advise. My trip is to walk from the Arctic at Prudhoe Bay to the Antarctic at Ushuaia, Tierra del Fuego, Argentina. I'm now half way. Wish I could do Soylent for the entire three year trip but logistics preclude this. Please check out my trip blog at rollingsouth.com. Thank you!

I also drink meal replacement shakes, but when I checked the price of soylent, it is way too expensive.  I use Natureade Soy Meal Replacement and it taste great and does the trick for me.  I only drink two a day and have one regular meal and so far so good.  Good Luck!  Diets and changing ones lifestyle is like saving and investing, there are many ways to get there so you just have to choose what works for you.  I'm like you, I hate counting calories and looking at labels so replacing breakfast and lunch is the best way to go so I only have to worry about dinner.

This was very informative! Really well done. I rarely see new YouTubers that are this polished (are you new to this? Because I'm seriously impressed!). Great video.

It took me a while to realize you were walking while talking. I thought you were just lightly dancing.

i do soylent for breakfast, for lunch i do salad with egg or edamame (protein to stay full) and ill have fruit or vegetables or smoothie as a snack and for dinner i will have a actual meal like chipotle bowl or pizza, mac and cheese or pasta and im starting to lose weight. the trick is to drink a glass of water between meals and it keeps you full longer. green tea and coffee are also great.

I like the idea, and was hoping to test it, but Soylent's too expensive. Is there an option to buy it in bulk?

Been swapping out Soylent for the less healthy choices I would otherwise make. Been two months no problems thus far, I prefer the cocao.

Soylent look like something you drink when you late for something or not feeling like eating a meal. But I really like the video. As someone said below this was very informational.

Hey man cool video. I'm 5 foot 6 and 220 lb I know it sounds like a lot but I really don't look that fat, my body type is a little different but still I want to lose weight probably be 175-180. I was thinking maybe drink three of these then have a chicken salad, do you think that would be smart or should I do what you did and have five of these a day?

the first soylent is not very enjoyable, but 2nd one was not bad at all, after that it started to taste good to me!

Are you on a treadmill? You're swaying as if you're walking.
