Being honest, as a fierce Shakespeare lover, I hate how much Fellowes deferred from the original text. Romeo and Juliet is one of the most beautiful plays ever written, and the language is a huge part of that. However, I cannot deny that I do love this version, because it’s so pretty, and the music is stunning.

I though this version was good. The only problem I had was the actors didn’t look their ages. They didn’t look young like the actors in the 1969 version. But despite that, I still enjoyed it and thought Hayley and Douglas had great chemistry.
