It's been confirmed already that the Warrior of Black and White that will be Shens downfall was Shen himself. He was chasing his own destiny. Which is furthermore implied by Oogway in the first film.

I kinda understand why Tai Lung went crazy with power. From the moment he could walk he was trained and made to believe he would be the dragon warrior, training every day with determination to live up to his master's expectations, only to have it stripped away from him at the last minute. Which when shifu says "THAT WAS NOT MY FAULT" His absolutely reasonable reaction was "NOT YOUR FAULT?" He did everything he was taught to do, yet none of it mattered. All he wanted was the one thing he spent his life trying to achieve and in the end his shock of being replaced by a *fuckin panda* made it even more demoralizing for him.

Well, the soothsayer never said anything about a panda. So it'd make sense Lord shen didnt just kill the pandas, but also killed animals that matched the description.

If this was true. It'd make Tai's story more depressing. Cause in a weird cruel sense. Tai would've probably not hesitated and massacred Shen and his army instead of letting him run rampant.

I'd definitely be on board for this theory, the only problem is that the timeline wouldn't add up since tai lung is much older than po and the five, the genocide of the snow leopards and pandas would have to take place over a span of possibly 20 to even 30 years. I'm all for developing tai lung and his backstory though, I hope we get some good time with him in the next movie

Damn… if this theory, and the one that Tai Lung will be back in Kung fu Panda 4 (Kai had his chi, and since everybody was liberated from Kai when he died, it means that Tai Lung is free too), it would be awesome

I believe that the theory about po’s parents, but in kung fu panda 3, Po’s father survives, I think po’s mom and dad had to abandon their son po so they can get away from lord shen, but after they dropped him at the door, lord shen might have stabbed Po’s mother and po’s father got away as fast as he can, or maybe both of the parents got away as fast as they can

Linking it with the theory that Tai Lung's rejection as Dragon Warrior was just a test for his mental ability. That means Shen was destined to be defeated by the dragon warrior. Be it Po or Tai Lung.

I doubt this is how Tai Lung was orphaned. Lord Shen said that he waited 30 years for his moment to claim the throne room of Gongmen City (and he imagined the canon a little to the left), and it was also 20 years after the Panda genocide. Tai Lung was in prison for 20 years and was already an adult by the time he was locked up. So, Tai Lung was too old for Shen to have turned him into an orphan.
