I got into Hollywood 4 decades ago with the plan to become a director. My head was black and blue from slamming it against the glass ceiling. I went as far up as First Assistant Director but the boys club wasn't interested in giving me a shot directing. Soooo frustrating. I finally gave up, started writing my own scripts and produced and directed an indie film (dark comedy) that's available here on Amazon...Black Widows. Is it great? Tough to make great when you're self-financing. But I made a God damned movie! Now I'm working on making great short films and going to festivals with them. If the big boys won't have me, I'll make my own sand box. Things will change. They have to.
