So a man can demand to be called a woman but if a woman demands to be called a woman everyone loses their minds??

Ana is one hundred percent right on this. Bri's gaslighting and pretending like this isn't a thing is either super ignorant or disingenuous.

I’m no kasparian fan, but 100% agree with her

I am not going to lie. I am shocked she hasn't apologized. Good for her.

Ana Kasparian is as left wing as it gets, but since she doesn't want to use the approved terminology. They're attacking her viciously.
This is one of the main reasons why people stop identifying as left leaning, their holier-than-thou attitude is extremely obnoxious and exhausting.

I had my baby last year, and when I was signing up for a doula the form stated: Birthing Person Name. No joke. I crossed Birthing Person out and wrote Mom. A question also asked what I preferred to be called; I wrote, "not birthing person".

That terminology is being used today.

What Briahna is missing is that Anna is indignant on behalf of women generally. Anna doesn't need to have experienced some personal slight.

I feel the same way about the term “ppl of color” some of the left’s progressive language genuinely sucks.

Come on Brie, don't pretend like there is no one out there trying to change that to become the general language in legislation and public documents. If this were restricted to individual incidents it would not be an issue. Olayemi and Ana are both plenty disingenuous at times, so their beef is a nothing burger. The attempt to abolish the term "woman" from public discourse, however, is a real thing.

Gotta give Bri credit for being consistent. Once again she has a godawful take on this topic. 😂😂😂😂😂😂

Just yesterday, I heard NPR describing all women with that dehumanizing language when talking about women's reproductive rights. Ana is not just speaking for herself.

Bri: "There's something manufactured about the idea that average woman, who identifies as a woman, who's a cis woman, is being constantly asked to identify as something else..." OK you just did it right there : Who asked if women at large were OK with the label "cis women" being imposed on them? 🤷🏻‍♀

Bri demonstrates how insidious this stuff is. She refers to these terms as though they've been around time immemorial

It’s not about whether Ana was individually called “birthing person” or other substitute for “woman.” It’s about medical institutions, news media, and academia insisting that the proper term for woman is a body part or function, and refusing to allow the word “woman” to be used for, um, actual women. Bri’s sarcasm supports this anti-woman practice.

Bri doesn’t get it! I was referred to as a birthing person on my child’s birth certificate. I was not referred to as mother. This was in the state of California. Just saying!

Anyone using the term birthing person should not be taken seriously

Trans person: "I demand you call me by whatever absurd thing I decide to come up with today, otherwise your a bigot"!!
Also Trans person: "how could you possibly care about whether you are referred to as a "real woman" or not"..??!!

When this language is coming straight out of the Whitehouse, on doctor's forms, when you go to vote, be honest with us, this is now part of our language. And the majority us didn't sign up for it.
