Joscho is such a monster. I could listen to him play gypsy all day.

I've been struggling with sweep technique. Spent sleepless nights thinking how to practise, thinking how should my fingers be, thinking how should i hold the pick, thinking in what anlge my wrist should be in... or should i make an angle with my wrist and so o and so on and so on. I find these videos of yours extremely and ultimately important and helpfull. I mean EXTREMELY and ULTIMATELY important and helpfull. I found these videos yesterday. Now i perfectly well know that if Joscho can play as a lightning with holding his fingers, pick and wrist the way he keeps, then i can get there that way. And now i know how to do it and i can go forward with practising... and i can sleep :) So THANKS to you Troy!! THANKS

A jack of all trades or a master of one. I like that his answer was honest in that, even tho he knows of these other players, he didn't study or copy them, his discipline is gypsy. It's just that the technique carries over. Bluegrass players are very similar in their singular focus. They simply don't have time to learn everyone else, they're perfecting their discipline.

After I watched the Yngwie vids on CTC, I fell in love with the Yngwie method.

He's right about music being connected. Now we know who inspired who.

It's really awesome to waand hear these things, the first arpeggio LICK he played was actually the same lick but in a different key in the Hail to king solo by Synyster gates when the fast part started, it's really awesome to see that Music is connected.

nobody can be compared to the great Django, unless they can play lead with 2 fingers, like Django. Love your guitar and you do play it great

this finally convinced me to practice playing the low note in arpeggios like these with a downstroke after an upstroke escape instead of trying and failing to do an upstroke escape on the lowest note. although muting while doing this kind of rotation picking movement is pretty difficult

also his yngwie arpeggio style sounds great fast, but slowed down you hear that its actually a gallop sort of rhythm instead of triplets

also, you could try doing a mix of both: two downstrokes on the high string, but escape motion upstroke + downstroke on the lower strings. that way you get the accent on the first note without losing the upstroke escape speed.

but even after a little bit of practice, this technique feels soo much better than my old technique
