CICS Transaction Performance Management

This video introduces the great visibility and context-sensitive drilldowns IntelliMagic Vision provides into the rich set of metrics available in the SMF 110 CICS Monitoring Facility transaction records.

Initial views of transactions by CPU intensity or transaction volumes are demonstrated, as a launching point for further analysis, including drilldowns into response times broken out by the standard CICS response time components.

The use of global filters to focus analysis (e.g., by CICS region name or by transaction name) is also demonstrated. The many categories of performance data provided in the SMF 110-1 records are introduced, with Program Load counts used as an example.
