With these two simple tricks I show in this video, you can measure the level of a liquid in any kind of tank, wether it is a surface or underground tank.
With the first trick, you use a pulley and a string, and you tie a relatively heavy object in the end of the string that goes in the tank. The object needs to be heavy enough, so that it sinks as the level falls down, but it also needs to float when the level is going up. A simple bottle filled half way with water or other liquid is a good idea for such a floater device.
On the other end of the string, you can tie another relatively heavy object, heavy enough to go down as the string is let lose on the other side, and also light enough, so that the floater on the other side is able to pull it when it goes down.
With this setup, when the level in the tank falls down, the floater follows going down as well, pulling up the external object which acts as an indicator.
In the reverse procedure, when the level in the tank rises, the floater goes up too, allowing the external indicator to fall down.
The two end positions can be marked as the "full" and "empty" positions, and we can make any kind of marking in the middle.

The second trick is way easier and it involves a simple stick and a light object that acts as a floater. You simply stick the stick into the floater, and pass it thtough the hole of the top base, like I show in the video, and as the floater will follow the liquid level, it will move the vertical stick up and down. The "full" and "empty" markings can be made on the vertical stick, and job done.

One thing to mention is that in the first option, the waight of the inner object needs to be twice the weight of the outer object.
Also, adding two or more pulleys, we can reduce the final travel of the outer object/indicator.

κυριε Γιάννη εγω στην δεξαμενή πετρελαίου βάζω μεσα ενα ξύλο μακρύ σαν σκουπόξυλο και μετα βλέπω μέχρι που έχει βραχεί και μετα περνεις ενα μέτρο το μετρας ποσο ειναι και ξέρεις πόσο εχει ακόμα μέσα ή πόσα λίτρα έχεις κάψει

Κι αν η δεξαμενή είναι κατά το 1/3 κάτω απ'την επιφάνεια του εδάφους, και το υπόλοιπο κομμάτι της να προεξέχει πάνω απ'το έδαφος, υπάρχει περίπτωση να γίνεται με το κόλπο με τις επιπλέον τροχαλίες? Όπως είχα κάνει σχέδιο στο προηγούμενο ίδιο βίντεο?

Κύριε Γιάννη, από μια σόμπα πετρελαίου που είχα, είδα ότι το σίδερο που ανεβοκατέβαινε, το είχαν φτιάξει σαν βίδα. Κι έτσι, το "ανάγκαζαν" να γυρνά καθώς κινείτε.
