This is my first video that I worked on together with my long lost identical twin brother David Ury. He helped get the actors to do the video. You can see us meet in my videos, just search "Ken Tanaka " and "David Ury".

Scott Beehner is an actor from the Groundlings comedy troupe, and lots of tv shows like Zeke and Luther, Sunny in Philly, and Workaholics. Stella Choe is an actor and professional dancer from The Muppet Movie and other films and tv shows. Attention agents, She is seeking theatrical representation in Los Angeles.

In this video, What Kind of Asian are you? Scott plays a friendly jogger who is very interested in guessing the heritage of Stella.

I actually had the exact question asked of me and it was a lawyer getting a deposition from me. I totally annoyed him because I kept saying I'm from Texas, when he asked where are you're people from I said Texas and then he said, where is your grandmother from and I again said Texas and then he finally asked me the question he wanted to ask me all along" "What is your ethnicity" and I finally said " I am an American from Mexican decent." He then and then I told him some Mexicans are from this side of the border sooo when Texas was part of Mexico we lived in Texas and then when Texas belonged to the U.S., we were still living in Texas--no changes other than the government that now runs that state.

This was fun but I can see how it can be very annoying too. Thank you to all those patient people out there who have put up with this on a regular basis. What a great comeback though "must be a Korean thing."

My experience:
Stranger 1: Where are you from?
Me: I'm from Taiwan.
Stranger 1: Oh, I love Thai food!
Stranger 2: Oh yea, Pad Thai is my favorite!

A person once asked me: "Are you Japanese, Indian, Irish or what?" Answer: "I'm transendental" Response : "Where's that?" His friend : rolls eyes, knowingly "Transendania... silly, don't know anything?"

I only discovered this recently. But I’ve literally just had a conversation like this. Thank you.

Hi, this is an upload to counteract the pirated version of this video that people are using with the name "Where are you from?" . :-) Sorry for the repeat.

It’s the same in Germany in 2022. People in Germany really love asking “where are your ancestors from?”… once they got it right in their head, you should see the satisfaction on their effing face.

좀 더 강하게 다가오는 내용이네요!

My Korean-American friend born and raised in California gets this a lot when he says he's from California.
To me, as a native Korean, he's American, specifically Korean-American, but not Korean.

Ohh native America... I love her response.
Some people can’t handle half of what they dish out.

I was born in South Korea and was adopted, so I get this all the time. I like the come back though. I'm going to use it next time. :)
