Electric dipole in electric field (Uniform and non uniform) -
There will be a torque when an external field is applied to a electric dipole and that torque will align the dipole In the direction of electric field. The positive side will be aligned by a force qE and the negative charge by -qE.

The total force will be zero for uniform electric field, and will have magnitude for non uniform E field .

A surface charge density
B linear charge density
C volume charge density
Which is the calculation of charge for a small observable quantity.

Gauss law-
Flux = Qin/ relative permitivity

We choose a Gaussian surface to apply the Gauss Law it can be any shape. Just we choose to make the calculations easy.
