I love when there's things about getting free food and it's just gardening.

One thing she forgot is that you really need *one* plant. Strawberries produce offshoots like crazy, you cut 1 off - they make another 10. Those offshoots find ANY piece of soil and grow roots. They can be gifted to friends, or used to grow your "farm". However if you don't need them - it's best to cut them constantly so that the plant produces more berries

Make sure to always use the seeds of the strawberry you like the smell and taste of most. Overtime the plants will continue to improve

That is not free. That is the reward for your consistency and hardwork.

My mom planted strawberries about 10 years ago in a confined garden near our house which grew well and began growing outward. There are now strawberry plants hidden in the grass everywhere on our country property, I’ve seen small strawberries over a hundred yards from the original plant.

i just stumbled across this. I had been thinking about growing from an existing strawberry but thought it would be a huge job trying to use tweezers to remove a seed. Thank you so much and Merry Christmas, 🎄✝✝🍓

This is why I love strawberries so much (besides that they taste amaziing) I bought some young plants from someone on a 2nd hand website, i think i had 10 but 2 runners turned it into 12, now its the next year and I have so many runners that i can literally DOUBLE the plants I have, i have at least 12 crowns i could grow into new plants!

Just be aware unless you live in a sunny (no frost) moist area your strawberries may not grow they are VERY temperamental

What time of year should you start planting it inside? And in what weather can it go outside?

at my house, the place i live the ground and climate is perfect for growing all kinds of things, we have 2 100sqft blackberry bushes that we could never control and now they are producing a plethora of the yummiest blackberries i’ve ever tasted, such an amazing feeling

It does take a little for it to grow though to the normal size of a strawberry. The first year the strawberry will be really small but over time they will get bigger mine took 2 to 3 years hopes this helps.❤❤
