A Match Made in Heaven (1997)

Helen Rossi is determined to find a mate for her son Tom, a confirmed bachelor and divorce lawyer who plans to avoid matrimony altogether. While undergoing tests at clinic, Helen spots a nurse, Jane, who she feels would be the perfect wife for Tom. She persuades them to go on a blind date against the advice of her housekeeper/confidante, Katie, and her circle of card-playing friends. The date is a disaster and matters are made worse when Tom keeps running into attractive women that seem to know him intimately. Helen is driven to see the two married some day and pursues this goal even after finding out that her medical tests indicate she does not have long to live.

Great movie! Clean and family friendly. That John Stamos is a fantastic actor. Wow, those tender scenes with him and his mother look so real. So glad this was available to see on YouTube.

I accidentally stumbled on this movie...I'm so glad I did .. honestly the quality of content of the movies ...till 1998...was probably the best...after this ...all has been the peak of creativity.. sensitivity...now just the opposite...miss this world 🌍...these era's were the best...the world to rocked... especially the family bonding... humanity...love ..marriage . friendships...

Olympia Dukakis won an academy award for another film, and she should get an academy award for this film. She is a super star. John Stamos, likewise, is outstanding in this film as is Della Reese.
I remember when my mother was dying. My sisters and I were were overwhelmed. We held hands around her hospital bed and prayed over her. She died peacefully. It's so difficult to lose a parent.

What a wonderful movie with a terrific cast, especialy Olympia Dukakis, and my namesake, John Stamos. I went through some tuff emotions while watching the cancer treatments. It brought back thoughts of my dad and the hard times we had, dealing with his illness

No matter how many times I watch this movie, it's beautiful each time. The cast is magnificent and all the ladies are class acts. Della Reese is superb. Olympia Dukakis, as always is a wonderful talent and Liz Sheridan and Estelle Getty, all add warmth, humor and a touch of reality to a delightful and charming story. Thank you for posting this.

I was not expecting to cry watching this, but as soon as the mom tells him, “I can’t take care of you anymore” I lost it😭. And then the ending with the piano, 🥹🥲. Sweet movie💜💜 Every time he kissed the girl, I was waiting for him to say, “have mercy”😉

The late Olympia Dukakis always excels in her portrayal as a loving friend and mother as she was outstanding. The late Della Reese also portrayed a great supporting friend and housekeeper being close to the family. John Stamos played a successful lawyer who is charming and loving as a brother and son. His performance was sheer brilliance and a natural with his acting talents from serious to funny scenes. Kelly Rowan played a hardworking nurse who was independent and unsure if she would fall in love. No offense to
Michael Whitfield as he was cast to be the younger brother to Tom which
John.Stamos is younger than him but they portrayed being brothers convincingly. Estelle Getty, Liz Sheridan and Renee Taylor were fabulous being close friends to Helen. This film was enjoyable and it warmed my heart and had moral values to take notice.
I'm impressed how this was a made for tv movie. Definitely worth watching as it's just under 90 minutes.

They don't make movies like this anymore. It was an absolute delight to watch. Olympia Dukakis and Della Reese were simply amazing in this movie. I thoroughly enjoyed the movie.

Its great to pick up a picture that wasn't a block buster and which frequently are actually boring. This was lovely and I'm pleased it is getting an airing.
