"Entschuldigen Sie" is a more formal and polite way of speaking. I only use it with senior citizens or government officials. But during the morning rush hour on the U-Bahn or S-Bahn, everyone just says "Entschuldigung" when they're ramming into each other and trying to mow each other down while rushing to get to work.

Thank you so much to your response of my question, "When to use 'zu.' It has helped me a lot.

I have been trying to get someone to tell me when to use the preposition 'zu' before infinitive verbs. I have always learned that the rule (general) was that 'zu' followed a noun or an adjective. More to follow...

How would you say, "Excuse me!?" as in "Come again!" Again, suggesting that you didn't quite understand what had been said or that you had possible doubts or had been surprised at what had been said.

Examples. What do you want to eat? Was wollen Sie essen - without 'zu.' I want tacos (n.) to eat. Ich will dass Tacos zu essen - with 'zu.'

Please, could someone give me a searchable grammar rule for this. Thank you so much for your postings, commentaries and your informative videos. :)

Shouldn't you pronounce the "t" ? Or does this depend on the region ?

@Djbennett95 Yes, but if you speak with strange people it is more polite to say Sie ;)

german is confusing me at the moment, there're many ways to say the same thing it seems, and I don't know which is correct :P
for instance, I thought 'excuse me' was 'entschuldigung'
