This is heartbreaking 💔 I’m not from Gary or Indiana at all but I can tell this was a predominantly black high school. So many memories gone

Wow! I graduated from Wallace in 67! That was rhe first year of bussing from downtown! Used to be a great high school. Some other videos show the abandoned and decayed school! What a shame!

Very sad.  Had my parents not been a part of "White Flight" in the early '70's, I would have gone to Lew Wallace.  I miss that area.  So sad that it closed.

After only 5 years of being closed; look at the school now, it looks like it were closed for 50 years for how ransacked looking it is now.
