This is why Batty's without a doubt the best character in the movie considering that he's a talking bat voiced by Robin Williams! Add to the fact that he's very over-the-top and flamboyant makes him even more iconic and unforgettable!

There are so many Batty phrases I use in my everyday life. "Ohp. Gravity works." "I know where I am. I know where I am." "WHY do I not believe you?"

I was absolutely in love with this movie as a child so my mom bought me a bag with Batty on it off of EBay. I loved it as a kid and kept it growing up. A year or two ago me and my mom happen to stumble on the topic of the bag and turns out that only people who worked on the film were giving those bags, long story short I have a bag that was given to someone who worked on the film. It is a prized item to this day.

3:11 I know it's the point, but as a kid this part always scared the shit out of me. This movie was excellently written, light hearted, poinient, scary, and beautifully vibrant all rolled in one. RIP Robin Williams for being such a large part of my childhood. <3

Batty is so adorable I love fruit bats so much it's because of this movie I discovered fruit bats. Robin Williams nailed this role! Unfortunately he's an underrated Robin character and that's sad 😢

Part of me wishes that batty should have been the main character in this movie. I’m saying this because despite him knowing about humans and such, it would have been a great explanation as to how he ended up in the lab and where the rest of his family is at as well. I would like to see a movie based on batty, it would have made his character shine, plus Robin Williams is a genius.

I remember that during this and Aladdin's development, Jeffery Katzenburg (the president of Disney until 1995) did not want Robin to be in this movie because he wanted to market Robin in Aladdin during this movie's development, this backfired obviously and Robin did not want to be in a Disney film after Katzenburg fucked everything up. When Katzenburg was fired, Joe Roth wrote a public apology letter to Robin and stated they had agreed to not market Robin in any future Aladdin advertisements.
