I think this a short scale bass, but sounds the way I like basses to sound. What a beautiful instrument.
It has the better cup pots and that little Hofner logo on the body.

I never cared about Hofner until now. I just read a thread on Takbass of a newbie buying his first bass. Should it be a Hofner or Pbass ? He wants the Hofner, and now I agree !!! The question was will it do Motown ? I think the answer is yes. Maybe not Iron Maiden, but Motown, sure.
