Haven’t had cable for over 15 yrs now. It’s been exclusively internet streaming since about 2010.

I used to have a cable subscription for 2 reasons. Sports and news. Sports became political and cable news has become so propagandized it is unwatchable. I haven’t had a cable subscription for 3 years and miss it 0%.

My cable company is also my internet company. When I cancelled cable shortly there after my internet bill went up. Almost $100.00 per month

True. Cable is too expensive and we barely watch TV. We only have internet at home now. It also sucks that cable companies have monopolies on the area they cover.

Not to mention cable/ dish / direct Tv. it was very expensive over 80 dollars for a small package. I remember for many years we only had internet/ Wi-Fi. It was much cheaper we couldn’t afford to have both. The big Tv networks shot them selves in the foot. They knew it was very expensive and they still over charged so people went to new platforms to get their news/ videos such as YouTube … don’t feel bad one bit for what has happened

Haven’t had cable in 20 years because of ads and dumbed down news. I’m only 41 and didn’t like it even back then!

Here is the problem. Cable Subscriptions went up in pricing, and showed no signs of slowing down. Then a bunch of networks like Netflix, Yes, Disney, Paramount Plus, HBO, etc all got greedy and decided to make their own stuff... all made it impossible to keep up with the payments and keep up with these stupid subscriptions. I am surprised people pay for these subscriptions. Its the same for video games, people buy, and then complained they are getting fleeced. I cant afford $350+ month for all these services. I was content with paying $80 for a full cable package with $10 for STARS, HBO and the other stuff. Now i pay $39.99 for 500Mbps internet, and get my news off telegram. I have stayed off Social media, because social media is worse than the propoganda on cable.

I grew up in a household that didn’t have satellite but a basic cable plan and I enjoyed the history channel and discovery channel long before all of the phony reality TV set in. When I graduated high school in the early 2000s and moved out I couldn’t afford any cable so I’ve been without since but my goodness seeing what they broadcast today as a stark comparison to what I grew up watching. It’s better that I continue Buying up these older programs on DVD and watching entertainment that I can actually learn from specifically Civil War history recently.

Rob smith is right about cable networks haven’t invested into younger talent and infrastructure.

They edit original videos and clips to further their narrative. Americans are tired of it

Kind of a shame because cable TV has typically more reliable quality than streaming, and I've had issues at times with loss of internet but no loss of cable TV. And in more rural areas you can't get good streaming internet (some use a hotspot for web browsing, and then use satellite for TV).

No cable since 2016, I feel much better

As someone who's never watched television, there is no way they're going to make me start watching it even if they change the people they use

you pay for cable and get commercials, you pay for streaming and no commercials. Very simple model.

Why would anyone pay $100/month for crappy cable when you can get streaming services for a fraction of the price?
