This might be one of the less complicated songs on Lateralus, but 'less complicated' for Danny Carey still boggles the mind when trying to learn it. After learning the sticking patterns though, it's fun to sit back and let the sticks fly.

you are legit the only person I have ever seen play Tool successfully... besides Carey of course. I've been drumming for over 15 years and playing tool recently. You're dedication is amazing man. Danny Carey to me is one of, if not THE, hardest drummer to try to understand the rhythm and his complexities (IMO). Keep up the work man - I look forward to seeing more of these videos!!

Awesome cover! I've noticed that a lot of people who cover Tool songs often play the fills from the song as exact as possible (both because it helps people like me translate a sound into what to do, and because his fills are fucking legendary), and you did an awesome job of that. @ricardoieci It's a pearl free-floating maple snare. I tune it pretty high, with the reso head slightly tighter than the batter head. I'll use a drum tuner when I change heads just to make sure every lug has equal tension, but I tune it by ear and according to each song I play.

@ScalerWave Haha, sounds about right, and whatever you do works like a charm. I read somewhere that adding compression is like painting - you add several thin coats for good results, instead of one thick coat that will crack and flake away.
