I remember hearing about this when it happened. There was a lot of publicity about the movie, while they were making it, and how Brandon Lee was the main actor. Then, the news was that he was shot dead doing a scene that was supposed to be movie magic shot dead, pretend obviously. This is involuntary manslaughter by negligence by the producer, just as Alec Baldwin has been facing criminal charges for a similar incident as the producer of "Rust, " although the case is still ongoing, and "involuntary manslaughter, requires that the defendant consciously disregarded a substantial and unjustifiable risk that his actions could cause another person’s death.” It's been well documented that it was chaotic on the set of Rust, and negligence is very possible. If you watch the movie Crow, there is constant shooting at the main character, and so many shootings are statistically bound to have an accident... maybe. Maybe not. I still feel it's the same as the Alec Baldwin case. You don't film a movie if you don't think you can handle making a make-believe movie appear real, without actually ending up real.

It’s standard to have a weapons expert check the firearms used on set at least twice before the scene is filmed. The fact that they didn’t know there was a bullet tip in the gun doesn’t make sense. It’s almost as if the firearm wasn’t checked on purpose or someone planted a bullet tip so it would seem inconspicuous. Or both.
