Oh...Hey...Yeah....

Lyin’ awake like I’ve been before
But I’m miles away I can’t see straight no more
Right in your space I just walked through your door
But I’m still so far away

Ooo...Ooo...Oh...Yeah

My eyes don’t glow like they did before
Reflecting the light of day, hey!
Ravelling softly while you speak in time
But I’m still so far away

Lyin’ awake like I’ve been before
But I’m miles away I can’t see straight no more
Right in your space I just walked through your door
But I’m still so far away

Ground slips away while the earth decays
Tired of breakin’ day, hey
Turnin’ around at the speed of sound
But I’m still so far away

Lyin’ awake like I’ve been before
But I’m miles away I can’t see straight no more
Right in your space I just walked through your door
But I’m still so far away

Day after day I dissipate away
It seems to me okay is the only word I say today
Lies that grind right through your hollow mind
To find that time itself has always been on your side
Rewind pass reverse, same lines that you rehearse
Same lies when you've been hurt, tryin’ to swallow your worth
Matter of mind, matter fact stay on your grind
And come back to recognize in a lucid state of mind

Time disagrees with the roots and trees
Dyin’ to glimpse the day, hey!
I’ve tasted gravel and watched it unwind
But I’m still so far away, okay!

Lyin’ awake like I’ve been before
But I’m miles away I can’t see straight no more
Right in your space I just walked through your door
But I’m still so far away
They left me!

Lyin’ awake like I’ve been before
But I’m miles away I can’t see straight no more
Right in your space I just walked through your door
But I’m still so far away

(Round)
Lyin’ awake like I’ve been before
But I’m miles away I can’t see straight no more
Right in your space I just walked through your door
But I’m still so far away
But I’m still so far away
But I’m still so far away

Rabbit: "I can't drive!! Legally"
Flashback to Overdrive: *"I drive my car straight through the wall into the ballroom"*
Disregarding that they don't hand out driver's licenses to robots… that tracks

Yay, Zero is so mellow, even when trapped in the horror tunnels of the back room

As they say, prepare your ears for the grinding gears!

Man, I really love the sound Zer0 brings to the group. It's distinctly different but every bit as good as the other members, and makes songs where he has the lead such a treat.

Zero's voice is heavenly. I'm always nervous when people are coming in and out of the band, but as soon as I hear this one, I knew it was a good decision. A different vibe from other SPG tracks, but just as powerful and evocative as their best songs.

Edit: Just wanted to add, I would classify this as "smoldering disco" /gen

“Time disagrees with the roots and trees” no matter how many times I listen to this song, that poetry gets me every time. Thank you so much for sharing this song with the world 💚

Found your group a few months ago, sent a link to my son and he responded with, "I see you found SPG - yeah, they're good." It seems he and his friends have been fans for years. Ah well, better late than never - right? Zero has such a magical voice. Thanks to all of you for the beauty you bring to this world - it's sorely needed.

I heard this song for the first time at one of their concerts and it gave me chills. Nice to finally see it getting the video treatment. It's a gift when a band can highlight each of it's members equally with different songs and that they can cover such an array of music genres. No two songs of theirs have the same feel but are all astounding. People say they have a favorite band or favorite songs from said band, but can only cherry-pick like the 2 most popular songs on their flagship album. But SPG is one of the bands where it will be an actual list spanning multiple albums.

Ok I have read through all the previous comments here, and I’m a little surprised that I’m the first to comment on the clever use of aspect ratio & how it changes from shot to shot. In fact, sometimes it even moves while viewing a shot. (For those unaware of what that means, Aspect Ratio is a proportional relationship between an image's width and height. Essentially, it describes an image's shape. Old tv is 4:3, 4 wide by 3 height. Modern TV & smartphones are 16:9) In this video, director David Michael Bennett has ‘those black borders’ frame some shots and are completely gone in others. And in the bridge of the song they move in and out creating a feeling of ‘the walls coming in’ on you. It is subtle at first but once you see it, you can’t unsee it. And the colorful ‘video noise’ is also used brilliantly! Kudos David & the rest of SPG. Y’all knocked it out of the park with this one! Thanks for the song Bryan!

SPG - your music helped me get through some tough times. In the past 3 years, I've experienced several deep losses, including my son last summer.

In a world that felt pretty dark, you have been one of the small rays of light that helped me make it through. You and my cats. :) I know each of you has also had to persevere through some things, and yet, still, here you are, still going. Thanks for all you do. The world is a better place for having you in it.

This sent me on a full 24 hour SPG deep dive yesterday lol. I think this is my new hyper focus song. Love my autism brain.

It's pretty great never being disappointed by a band. And pretty fucking rare.

I remember hearing the very early versions of this when Zer0 just joined and I already thought that this is one of the greatest songs of all time, but now this blows the previous version out of the water!
