We use those size dodgers for sockeye up here in the PNW. The nice thing about them is you can add a bend to them to increase the action when they want a slower troll with the same or more action. Just use a square edge to add your bend.

IMO, you cant think in terms of hourly wage when youre a commercial fisherman. Its a way of life, not a job. You're either all in or its not for you. I started commercial fishing at 14, its long hours of hard work with little sleep when the bite is on and the same when the bite is off and you're lucky if you break even. But personally I wouldn't trade those years on the water for anything, especially a boring desk job.

Maybe you should keep the Kingfish too, put out a separate pole with multiple hooks.
The species name lineatus is a Latin word meaning striped. White croaker are often sold in fish markets under the name kingfish, and they are often called tomcod, tommy, roncador, or ronkie by sportfishermen.
They can have worms though.
Fish usually get worms from a creek or river outlet.
It's hard to say where you might find them without worms.
