Slightly off topic: I just recently got into this racing game series called F-Zero, you probably know about it thanks to the track and theme Big Blue being in Mario Kart 8, and speaking of tracks, there is a track in F-Zero X for the N64 called Silence where the map is just an oval. It reminded me a lot of Baby Park from Mario Kart. Both franchises are from Nintendo, so I can't help but wonder if this is just a coincidence, or there is some inspiration or influence from F-Zero in Mario Kart. Wouldn't be surprised if that was the case since Mario Kart tends to reference F-Zero at least once in a while. Like the Blue Falcon kart, and a literal track and theme designed after F-Zero.

All we need now is Captain Falcon as a guest racer. I still laugh at how we got Isabelle and the villagers from Animal Crossing, Link from The Legend of Zelda, the inklings from Splatoon, yet we still don't have who would be perhaps the best guest racer in any racing game. Captain Falcon from F-Zero.
