A P0500 code is a diagnostic trouble code (DTC) titled “Vehicle Speed Sensor (VSS) Malfunction.” This code is triggered when the vehicle's Powertrain Control Module (PCM) or Engine Control Module (ECM) detects inaccurate speed readings or lack of a signal from the Vehicle Speed Sensor (VSS)

Check the cluster behind the wheel. There’s a ground cable that gets cut from those. Ask me how idk. But even if you make a new key it will still happen.

Check cluster unit for a cable that grounds on the steering rack or something like that.

If not check the 2 sensors behind the motor passenger side. I believe it’s cam sensor or something that involves that.

Had this happen to me YEARS ago. Freakin sold it for a 240 and never looked back. Lol 😂
