Whenever I try to log in the game just sits at "Connecting" for a bit then disconnects me immediately :/

I found wow rebirth pretty good
It had smaller population than ED but also much less buggs
and no donation rewards

As far as a 1x vanilla WoW server goes, I doubt very seriously you'll find a better option than ED, especially if you're looking for a server with English as the primary language. The dev team might not be the pinnacle of professionalism, but the server seems solid enough, as well as the player base. Feenix also has a long history in private servers, so longevity doesn't seem to be an issue.

I say it's worth it, personally. This is coming from someone who normally hates private servers.
