William Regal made his debut as Steven Regal in June 1998 on Raw against Darren Drozdov. Regal caught Darren with a double arm suplex and then tapped him out. Five months later on Sunday Night Heat, he was now A Real Man’s Man and issued an open challenge and Bradshaw accepted. Regal caught Bradshaw with a Cradle Suplex to win the match. On Raw, Regal issued another challenge and Goldust accepted. During the match, Kane came out, hit Regal with a choke slam and then Goldust too. At Survivor Series, Regal faced X-Pac in the WWE Title tournament and it ended in a double count out. Regal returned to WWE as William Regal in September 2000. Chris Jericho interrupted and destroyed his party. Three weeks later on Smackdown, Regal watched Al Snow defend the European Title against Albert. Snow defeated Albert, Regal attacked him and threw him out. On Heat, Snow attacked Regal, Jericho hit him with the lionsault and won the match. On Raw, Al Snow defended his title against Regal. Regal countered Snow and then tapped him out to win the title. On Smackdown, Regal, Perry Saturn and Snow met for the European Title. Snow hit Saturn with the head, Regal caught Snow and tapped him out to retain the title.
