Hey another Starbucks worker here as well and while no you aren’t required to tip us, 1.) we can’t control the prices, 2.) it’s very ignorant to be telling people that it’s stupid to tip if the drink is already expensive. 3.) The tips that we do get are very helpful and while not required, they help out with our income. Most restaurants now pay either slightly higher or minimum wage plus tips, the Starbucks I work at has only minimum wage and we are allowed to accept tipping but we aren’t allowed to advertise us so we really do get paid the minimum requirement. And last but not least 4.) yes it’s an expensive drink, but we don’t get paid commissions for said drink, we are still offering you a service. Chances are if your drinks already $6 it’s cause it’s a complicated drink anyways, so yes while you are not required and not expected to tip maybe think before you encourage the idea of it being stupid.

OK, listen to me. When she was showing us the past videos where she had hit a curb, on the one where it says "Letting Starbucks Baristas pick our drinks" WHY WAS THE THE THUMBS DOWN BUTTON BLUE!? I LOVE THAT VIDEO!!!
