Real odd vocal take by Dutch indie band from Breda the Four One and Only's that for some reason works very well. Years pre Pulp Fiction the band already was crazy bout Dick dale and this fine North Asian folk tune. On the surf guitar Rob 'Dale' Musters. It was recorded in legendary café Zanetti by Joseph James Foster. Also produced by him. The choir is the actual crowd sitting at the bar. No idea who all were there. We had a lot of fun doing this. This track was released on a rare 200 copies promo 45/ EP and also was included on the band's final CD 'Holy' in 1996.

This is has 1960s rock sound to it. I like it.

interesting. The term miserlou means "egyptian girl" and the tune derives from an old folk song about a man that travels to egypt and falls in love with a woman, and plans to steal her away. I was looking for something with those lyrics over Dick Dale's guitar, but this is cool too

"North Asian"? I'll accept anywhere within 1000 miles of Jerusalem but Dick Dale picked it up from Lebanese family connections and the earliest known recording was by a Greek folk band. I've collected almost 70 different digital versions and this is probably the weirdest, (but not one is readily available on vinyl).
