before he collapsed he ran back 20 yards to get back to defence to help his team even though i could guess he was in agonising pain. This guy is the defender we all need, he never gives up, amazing defensive abilities, goalscorer, tall, and super fast. wish him the best and a speedy recovery

I think the main reason his teammates tried to put him in a recovery position, is because they feared that it was a cardiac arrest and tried to treat him for that. With so many things going on a soccer pitch, the players probably didn't link the clash of heads to the collapse or they didn't see the clash of heads. Thank you for the great video

1:25 that is a very good point, i keep hearing in the media that his fellow players did the right thing flipping him to the side to avoid a worst outcome, but that is not true, they need to learn this even though their intentions were noble .

I saw it live, it was jaw dropping, I was so scared, I could only imagine how he's feeling right now.

Fuck I didn’t see the game but that makes me so sad. Araujo is a great player for Barcelona, his absence will be felt tremendously. Thank you for covering this recent injury. I hope he’s back to good health in no time. Damn, soccer just has so many injuries on the regular. It’s becoming such a common occurrence.

Thank you very covering this. Anyhow how Head clashings like this are very common in the sport, Fernando Torres incident being one of the worst.

Wouldn't it be worth giving all the players at least basic first aid and CPR? I mean it's required in most workplaces now, not out of the question for these multi-million dollar earners to have a briefing on.

Thanks for covering this and also advising what a teammate on the pitch should do in this situation.

I am so proud to be a radiology technologist. The thing with the epidural and subdural hematoma. Wow, I usually get confuse in this but from now onwards there won't be any confusion. Thanks Alot Doc. God bless you ❤️

2 more games left. It might be time to shut him down until next season. Our defense will suck next game as almost everyone is injured or suspended.

I don't know if you do suggestions but the Joao Paulo injury during the CONCACAF Finals against the Pumas would be interesting. As a Sounders fan it was sad to see he's out with a torn ACL but the play didn't look to bad for it to be that.

I’m impressed on your pronunciation of his name 👍🏻

Soccer has a serious problem with head injuries. I've watched two players damn near die from head injuries with Araujo and Raul Jimenez, and those are just recent examples at the top level of european game. Long term, football legislators really need to try to figure something out here.

I’ve just finished my football first aid training. They say not to move the player UNLESS you saw the injury and are fairly certain there is no neck or spine injury. You mention a few times that there could be a spinal injury - what makes you think this from seeing the clip?
For me it looks like a head injury, he carries on running.

the sad part was there was no point going for that header,
