I like the idea that Jinafire is so strong that she carries a bag made of fully jade and gold just cause of the look. Also, Cloudy Cloud Cloud, if I am not mistaken, is the actual translation of her pet's name

i honestly really love this jinafire design but desperately wish she at least had molded scales on the green parts of her body, even if it was just a taper/fade from her legs/hands ... definitely looking forward to seeing what paint people find is a good match so when i get mine i can add a fade, that really would put her over the top for me. also very excited to boil wash her hair for some reason?? idk just really want to see her with sleek hair and her braid lmao

Oh wow! She's gore-geous! Jinafire is my favorite MH character. She was the first MH doll I bought and why I got into MH ten years ago. Her G3 design is lovely, too! She really looks like a Chinese dragon made of gold and precious jade stone. My only disappointment is that they didn't give her entire body dragon scales like they did for her G1, but maybe it's to save money.

G3 Venus is still my #1 G3 doll in regards to WOW 😳 factor, but this ghoulie is top five for sure.
PS..I like the purple hair, it goes with her outfit. I'm also thinking Mattel saved money reusing some molds, so they could spend more on her outfit and give her saran hair. Just a theory.

the gold legs stopping at the knees + the texture reminds me of a chicken leg. This design element would've worked better with a bird like monster/mythical creature ie fury, phoenix, griffin etc. I agree that they should have made her all gold or all green. An ombre maybe could've worked as well

I think Mattel just wants to make G3 its own vibe. Like same characters, but change it up a little. I think its cool. Like you already have a gold Jinafire, why not have something different. But everyone's opinions are valid.

To be honest I think the doll is pretty but it doesn't give dragon or jinafire to me. It’s a little weird that she isn't completely gold because I think she'd look better.But I do love her hand molds and her legs. Just wish they had her entire body covered in scales in either gold or her new green toned skin. ❤❤❤Super happy they kept her original tail but I think its absolutely beautiful🔥🔥🔥🐉🐉

Since you mentioned doll customizing, for the ears, they could've done the thing many customizers do to make their modifications more sturdy which is giving them some type of "bone", like something they can hold on to and not just depend on the glue :^ idk, just a thought
I wish they went a bit harder on the scales, limiting them to just half of the legs makes them look like chicken legs 💀
that aside, I love her ^^ I love her hair and clothes and all the painted details

I love her! I agree with you about the scales and that Mattel have stepped it up. A very pretty take on a G1 fave.

I think a good option could have been to sculpt the gradient of the golden scales on the thighs and arms as they have already done with Clawdeen's fur or Cleo's bandages.

I’m very excited to get her doll!! The first thing I plan on doing with her is sculpting more scales onto her arms and legs, I think that will elevate her to near perfect for me

I do wish they had brought the gold up her arms more. it bothers me when the hand color just cuts off at the wrist. Twyla is similar though the wisps they gave her arms do help a bit. I think when I get my Jinafire I'll try to paint her arms a bit to bring the gold up more. However, as much as that irks me, the knees do not. It reminds me of one particular artwork or animation I remember seeing of a Chinese dragon where at the knee/elbow the color and texture changed to be much more scaly and it has that stark visual difference. IDK where i saw it or when, but it brought that memory forward in my brain when I saw her knees.

Something about her face and eyes especially is SO GORGEOUS. I think they look a lot like the og monster high eyes and I think that’s the reason I am in awe of them
