I review the Buzz B-Gone Zap, and test it to see if it's effective at attracting mosquitos. During my tests I wasn't able to catch a single Mosquito, so I wouldn't recommend the product.

Thanks to you and your brother for taking a "hit" for the team. I watched several reviews of this obviously scam product just for fun, and yours was the only one that really focused on whether the darn thing attracts mosquitos and reduces mosquito bites that you get. Most of the others were more circumspect, and focused on things like the inflated price, given that the exact same thing is available elsewhere for much less. Some of them seemed to indicate that if it killed any bugs at all, that's a win, whereas killing non-target insects such as moths should be seen as a negative, not a positive. Clearly, any money spent for this thing is too much.

Thanks for this honest review. Apparently, YT has no problem taking money to advertise junk scam products. The buzz be gone ad just popped up this evening, and like some other commenters noted, it had the stench of scam all over it. I hate to admit it, but I was conned into buying a very similar device (actually, a 2-pack) a couple of years ago. The “amazing” POS that I purchased has a solar/USB battery and a strobe/SOS flashlight along with the bogus “ultraviolet” light and zapper screen. It is about the same size as the buzz be gone device, and it even has an orange cage around it, too. If I had to guess, this new scam product is just a re-packaged version of the junk that I bought - from the same scam company. I have set my two units up - outside and at night - on some very hot and humid Georgia nights many times, and I think they would zap a couple of gnats each. Not ONE mosquito. As others have said, mosquitos are primarily attracted to CO2. Perhaps the ultraviolet-ish light acts as a beacon of sorts at night, but not enough to make the mosquitos want to fly into the zapper. Maybe the people who say this product has actually worked for them have some really stupid mosquitos, because the ones around me have no interest in the light. I finally purchased one of the original big bug zappers last year, and it has exterminated a ton of bugs, not just mosquitos. And I’m sure the main reason it kills mosquitos is the little package of Octenol that is placed in a holder just under the large “ultraviolet” light in my big bug zapper. The Octenol is heated by the light, and it gives off something very similar to CO2. The mosquitos get fried when they try to get to the Octenol (which I have to replace every 2 weeks or so). The bottom line is: if you want to kill mosquitos, don’t fall for these bogus ads and make these scumbags rich. Get a good old-fashioned big bug zapper with the Octenol compartment (and keep it supplied with the Octenol packets). Sorry for the extremely long post, but I hope this will convince anyone thinking about spending their hard-earned cash on this piece of junk to avoid it.

Thank you!!! All the "Reviews" my search came up with were advertisements. I went to YouTube to find an authentic review. The device can still be used to stomp mosquitos, and it comes with a light to see better in the dark. Thank you so much.

Good and finally a legit review! I seen the commercial on YouTube, NEVER considered buying one and even thought the whole 'kid allergic to mosquitoes invented one" story was bogus

Damn! Youre using it the wrong way. You have to hit mosquito using the buzzbgone. It has a wide base so that you have a bigger chance of hitting them. Purple light is just setting the mood and making you feel like your using a light saber. Then bring frog as a sidekick 🐸

I bought one and tested it in all different circumstances , it does not work during day time, it does not work if its windy, it only works at night with no wind and no one around it, if you sit out side with the buzz b gone at your feet it will attract mosquitoes and they will bite you instead of flying into the trap, i left it outside every night for a week and found that it kills heaps of moths and very few mosquitoes .

Thanks for this... Is also a valuable education in how many 'reviews' out there are actually advertisements. We used to have one of those old school bug zappers on our farm.. Plugged into the power.. That thing was an extermination machine.. As kids we enjoyed the fireworks when a particularly humongous bug paid the price for flying into the death trap!
