Hungry for Home: Our Story

Welcome to Hillside Farm! My name is Ruth McKeaney, and I invite you to join me all summer long for recipes, tips, family traditions, and more.

It all started with my book, Hungry for Home: A Year Together at Hillside Farm. From our favorite traditions and time-earned wisdom, to family recipes, gardening ideas, and hosting tips, for one year, we captured what “home” means to us. It is our hope that you will feel at home in its pages and be encouraged to make your house a home for others as well.

i have enjoyed watching your posts since the first time I saw you introduce your house on homeworthy. You have created a wonderful comfortable home for you and your family. The more significant aspects of home, intentionality and meaningful connection strike a chord in the heart of anyone that is in relationship. I wonder if there are those who long for that culture to be part of their lives but do not know how to have a meaningful conversation, or even what that looks like. i recall the story of your husband intentionally taking your son and son-in-law on a men's weekend retreat with the purpose of asking questions that would catalyze a deeper connection, but i hear "what are those questions?". i can hear many mothers who desire to connect with their children but do not know how to make that happen. Maybe that is beyond the scope of what you have been called to, but you have awakened the hearts of many who are hungry for home and for that we are all thankful.

This topic is such a need in our culture. As the world becomes more and more chaotic it is especially important that our homes become a refuge! Thank you for caring enough to write a big and make videos to inspire others to return their heart to home.

Ive been binge watching Homeworthy recently and right now your home is on it! I had to look you up after you showed your cookies and cookbook. So here I am a new follower!
