If by looking different you mean that the tabs at the top are not visible, all you have to do is double-click anywhere in the white area next to the window border and they should come back. Hope this helps.

In Control Panel open User Accounts and it should tell you if the account is administrative or not. On our channel, if you watch the video titled "Protecting Your Computer from Threats" you can click on the link, enter your email address (we don't send you a ton of junk, so don't worry) and gain access to info on downloading the products we recommend. There are videos showing you step-by-step what to do. You want only ONE resident antivrus program running, otherwise they fight each other.

It sounds like Task Manager is set to Compact mode where all you see is a list of tasks. Just double-click in the whitespace to the left of the buttons on the bottom and the tabs should come back. You might also want to scan for viruses and malware just in case.

Hope this helps.

Thank you! thank you! You saved me. I had to connect to my work remote pc from my personal laptop and the good old ctrl+alt+del was opening the task manager of my personal pc and not my remote pc. I used the first method and it worked.

I think a Windows 7 Gadget might do what you want. C-Net has several choices or you can Search for one. Hope this helps.

Thanks for commenting. Task Manager is a program that allows only one instance to run. If you could explain what you want to accomplish with multiple instances, maybe we can offer suggestions.

If you double-click anywhere inside the white border the tabs should come back. Let me know if you need more help.

Well, I want to display processes that are running as well as the graphical display of CPU, disk, and Memory usage. I guess you could use task scheduler to run the task manager more than once, but you can't open it more than once manually.

Hi Matt,
I'd need more information to answer your question. What version of Windows are you using, how are you logging on, do you get any error messages when you try, etc. You may have a virus that is preventing normal operations.
Please post more details and maybe I can help.

Thanks for posting.
