I love this. Like, as someone who's studied Shakespeare perhaps a bit too extensively (theater nerd, English major, all that jazz), I've always loved it when people realize that Romeo and Juliet is a weird and madcap comedy in tragedy trappings. The idea of Rosaline finding out what happens, and in stereotypical teen drama fashion trying first to break them up and get her cheating dude back, then clearly becoming weirdly besties with Juliet in the process? This absolutely _sings_ to me. Also, I'm just loving Rosaline's nurse. Just the absolute opposite of Juliet's wacky, Elizabethan stock-character nurse, with her malapropisms and day-drinking. The absolute "So done with this" way that she shoots down Rosaline's lie about having cholera...this is a woman who's seen this teenage menace do all sorts of absurd things, and has absolutely zero patience left for her shenanigans.

Yes, this role seems right up Kaitlyn's alley. I was always interested in finding out more about Rosaline, since Romeo seemed to get over her WAY too quickly, and she never actually appears. Plus, Isabela as Juliet is just a bonus treat!

Yes! This was my biggest issue with R&J and what most people gloss over. He was madly in love with Rosaline then in 3 days he was suddenly obsessed with Juliet. If I remember correctly, the story opens with him lamenting over her until he spots Juliet. Had they not gone off the deep end/faced pushback from her family (which made the chase more fun), I'm sure he would have become obsessed with a new girl soon after.
