MAJOR NORWEGIAN CRUISE LINE NEWS CANCELLATIONS & UPDATES (Cruise Start Up Plans, for Norwegian Cruises & NCL Cruise Tips). In this video we go over the latest Norwegian cruise news and how the cruise line is preparing for resuming sailing with crew members and passengers. As well, we go over your options if your cruise is cancelled, as well as promotions for booking a future NCL cruise.

In recent cruise news, Norwegian has suspensed all cruises in January-February 2021. As well, they have cancelled most cruises in March. The 3 ships that are to sail, are the Norwegian Encore, Norwegian Escape and Norwegian Joy. The cruises will be sailing to the Bahamas for short sailings, and to the Caribbean for 7 day sailings. Ofcourse, cruise itineraries are subject to change and the situation remains fluid as the cruise lines work to have permission to cruise from the CDC with the condition framework.

What is the start up plan for Norwegian? We have heard from NCL in past interviews, that the hope was to start trial sailings in mid-January. The plan is to begin cruises with only a few ships sailing, as a phased in approach. Right now, the NCL Encore, Escape and Joy are sailing from Miami and Port Canaveral, Florida.

In good news, crew members are rejoining the Norwegian Joy and other ships to begin the process to get ready to cruise again. This will take time, but it is happening.

In other news, NCL has shared that when Norwegian cruises resume, they will be packed with a full line up of entertainment. Theater and stage performers on the ships will not wear masks, however backstage crew will, and performers will be in a bubble on the cruise ship as they resume.

If your cruise is cancelled, you will receive a refund and a 10% off a future cruise coupon. This is combinable with other promotions.

Have you cruised with Norwegian or do you plan to? When do you *think* their ships will sail? 🤞

We were and are booked on NCL. Were booked last September for Alaska; it was canceled, so we booked a Caribbean cruise for January. It just canceled, so we booked the same cruise in April, fingers crossed. We have been booking directly with an NCL rep. He has been very helpful for the several years we have worked with him. Thank you NCL personnel for a job well done.

Hi Ilana, another well done video. We're amazed you arms don't get tired from all your hand motions. Cruising will come back slowly, but we're sure it will be well worth the wait. Hi from Bob and Jill in Connecticut missing singing in the church choir more than anything (getting our priorities straight)

I have 2 cruises on Norwegian, one in February 2022 and one in May 2021. The cruise in May is sailing from Amsterdam, have there been any updates on the American travel ban?

I am confused. The refund or credit will be processed by November 22? Isn’t it December 5? Does this mean that the refunds should be processed already?

I have sailed with NCL and I liked it except for the fact there were too many kids and I didn't like the cabin. Everything else was great, including the food. I booked guarantee and got the worst possible cabin you could get. And they refused to switch me. Next cruise for me is July on Oceania which is owned by NCL. Hopefully this one is a go.

We were booked for May 2020 on a Western Mediterranean cruise, it was cancelled and we moved that booking to a New England cruise for Sept. 2020 which was cancelled...and are now booked for September 2021 to Scotland, and the UK. With all of the UK shutting down again, I really want to just cancel everything now. I am worried we will not be welcomed as a cruise ship when we dock. Will Norwegian refund all of my money if I cancel the September 2021 booking now? We have already paid in full. What are your thoughts?

This was quite interesting. It will still take a while for the health protocols to start relaxation but certainly I should by summer 2021 cruises will really start to sail kneedeep out at sea again and by late 2021 and certainly in 2022 Cruises will be running at full force and likely to have the protocols become unnecessary. There will always be in person/face-to-face entertainment on cruises and visual entertainment on cruises and also digital entertainment at the same time. The protocols and mask mandates will start relaxing but it will take time as we know it. But thanks indeed for sharing and 2021 is going to be a happier year since we'll have mass vaccinations and highly effective medical drugs against Covid or the coronavirus could just burn itself out naturally but we shall certainly see. Take care indeed and happy cruising to you too :-).
